Impacto de la COVID-19 y su vacunación en el embarazo

Resumen

Esta revisión narrativa tiene como objetivo describir el impacto de la enfermedad coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) en mujeres embarazadas y sus hijos, así como la respuesta inmune generada en el binomio con la vacunación. Para ello, se lleva a cabo una revisión bibliográfica en distintos motores de búsqueda. De acuerdo con los resultados, se observa que la COVID-19 durante el embarazo se asocia con diversas complicaciones materno-fetales, las cuales disminuyen con la inmunización. Esta inmunización ha mostrado, además de una adecuada seguridad, la generación de una transferencia placentaria de anticuerpos al feto y a la leche materna que ofrecen una protección al recién nacido contra la hospitalización por la COVID-19. Se concluye que estos datos respaldan la inmunización anti-COVID-19 durante la gestación.
