Resumen

Se destaca el efecto de la adiposidad sobre la función reproductiva, con énfasis en la acción local de algunas adipocinas sobre la función ovárica. Para el objetivo, se realiza la revisión bibliográfica de artículos científicos. Al respecto, los principales resultados son la actualización de las cifras de prevalencia de sobrepeso y obesidad en México. En este sentido, se destacan los efectos de la adiposidad sobre la regulación de las adipocinas para la función ovárica y la salud reproductiva. Además, se evidencian los beneficios que se obtienen al realizar cambios en el estilo de vida. Los resultados permiten concluir que es importante visibilizar las repercusiones de la adiposidad a nivel reproductivo y se insta a la implementación de medidas que promuevan un peso saludable.
