Resumen

Las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero generadas por la producción de cemento han impulsado


la búsqueda de alternativas sostenibles denominadas Materiales Cementantes Suplementarios (MCS),


siendo los residuos de biomasa opciones viables. Este estudio evalúa la ceniza de sargazo calcinada


a 600 °C como MCS en morteros con agregado fino regional. Se elaboraron especímenes sustituyendo


entre 2.5 y 20 % de ceniza por cemento, evaluando resistencia a compresión a 28 días y


microestructura mediante análisis óptico. Los resultados mostraron incrementos de 17.54 y 9.12 %


en resistencia para 2.5 y 5 %, respectivamente, así como el aumento de rugosidad superficial con el 


incremento del porcentaje de sustitución. Se concluye que sustituir hasta 5 % de ceniza mejora el


desempeño mecánico.
